Crystal's entry into the oil business was unique. After years of her husband being on the road as a field landman, she was tired of being home alone. So Crystal quit her job, sold her house, packed up her life and dogs and drove to Ohio where her husband was working in the courthouses of the Utica shale.

After hanging out in corporate housing for about a week she became bored, which is not surprising after her years as an Emergency Department nurse. So the most natural thing for her to do was go to work with her husband. It didn't take long for her to become an intern abstractor. With on-the-job training and a can-do attitude Crystal was on her way to becoming a great abstractor/landman.  Her keen eye for detail made her a natural. She was often able to correct mistakes that veteran landmen had made on title reports which made her an invaluable asset to the project. Upon completion of the project, Crystal and her husband returned to Texas.

Once back in Texas, Crystal's husband Glenn opened Thompson Company Oil and Gas LLC.  Crystal was his partner the whole way, helping oversee its inception and expansion. While Thompson Company Oil and Gas LLC has holdings in Texas, it has clients and contacts all over the country. The logistics of executing for these clients is intense, but Crystal has proven she is up to the task. That is how she earned the position of Vice President of North American operations.

Crystal’s education includes:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Baylor School of Nursing.

  • Masters of Business Administration with a specialization in Healthcare Management from the University of Texas Tyler

Crystal’s professional experience includes over 20 years working in the healthcare industry. She has worked as a pharmacy technician, Emergency Department Nurse, and Critical Care Nurse. She used her skills and dedication to advance to both supervisory and management positions. She also spent time working with quality and performance improvement in various program coordinator roles.

Due to Crystal's extensive background in healthcare, she was given the additional responsibility of Director of Occupational Health for all employees and subcontractors.

When Crystal is not busy saving lives or helping run a small family oil and gas company, she can be found fishing with her husband in the Gulf Of Mexico or on Lake Travis. You may also find her playing stomp rockets in the yard with her son or shopping at HEB for a little “me” time.
